I was a simple train ticket away from Paris. I laid out all of the colorful British currency out on the single bed I was sleeping in at the top of Winkle's townhouse. I counted it three times, added the figures up in my head, and stared at the brochure sporting pictures of the miraculous Chunnel to France. Alas - finances were my folly that trip. I would have to save the remaining stash for daily trips through the London Underground, loose leaf tea at Covent Garden, and the cost of a bed & breakfast in Caerphilly, Wales. Paris was too much of a jewel to admire in a cheap, one night setting. I would have to hope for another good fortune to come my way in the future, to allow me to roam the Louvre, and eat baguettes and charcuterie in the shadow of the Eiffel. Perhaps the morning star will guide me there! ~*~Foxfires~*~
