Yes, me too, *foxfires*. I've been enjoying all the images and poetry appeoaring here from people's inner museums, thank you. It's way more fun than unpacking. Vancouver, closer to you, is amazing, and I recommend another visit. The most striking aspect is the way people smile. My husband saw a sympathetic banana slug on the way up Grouse Grind; my daughter and I spent a cloudy day in the Museum of Anthropology opening the drawers of their collections. The Heffel found us while we were looking for Granville Island, and we enjoyed looking at the Canadian Art Auction pieces, but couldn't find the Nick Bantock work and it seemed too busy there to ask. We watched a boy on the beach dancing with fire, a blue heron catch a fish on the shore, unconcerned by the fascinated 8-year old 10 feet away. We had congee in Chinatown, and okonomiyake at a Japanese Restaurant, foods I so associate with home kitchens it was odd to be served them by a stranger. We nibbled our way through Granville Market, mice in a miraculous pantry, and I really longed for a kitchen to cook in as an excuse to buy more. There was a lot of art in a lot of galleries I had to pass by this trip, in consideration to my patient daughter. Next time, I hope.
