Tyson ~ Thanks! Did you know that 5 will get you 15 if you play your cards right? (LOL Sorry, I just could not resist that one! 15 minutes of fame is not all that it is cracked up to be.) Anyway, to address your query. To my way of thinking, there is a big difference between knowledge and wisdom (so I agree with Alina). But to understand them I like to start with the facts and paint the whole picture. So here is my current take on it (alas, I reserve the right to evolve). Facts are pieces of data, like a number or day (eg. the number 20%). Information is facts strung together to tell a story (eg. sales are down 20%). Knowledge is understanding the information and the "why" behind it (eg. sales are down 20% because our competitor just took our largest client away. Our products are no longer the best value on the market and this is the first in a series of lost accounts we will have this year unless we do something). Wisdom is knowing what to do about it to achieve your goals in the best possible way. Wisdom comes from experience and understanding and acting on knowledge and seeing the results it creates. Can wisdom be learned? I tend to think more of the idea of acquired, but if you think of education as "drawing out from within" then "learned" might be an OK verb to use. But learning is not the same as embracing nor applying. Reading wisdom will not make you wise. So, I think Alina is also right to bring in the concept of taking action. Can someone be born with wisdom? Interesting question. I think we all may be born able to be wise - but it may need to be activated through experience or brought to the surface through circumstances. Children are sometimes the wisest of us all, so maybe it is more a matter of how in touch you are with the source of wisdom. It will be interesting to see how much "wisdom transfer" the site does. ~ Manifest
