Funny, my Mom always slide a book under my nose. It worked just about every time, except the summer I got ringworm and was banned from swimming in the lake for a couple of weeks. Seems my cat and I shared more in common than we realized, and one day under my bangs was this nice spiral growing right in the middle of my forehead. Talk about having a third eye! My poor Mom had to suspend our usual daily routine and find some other pursuits to occupy our days until I got over it. Spiny, as a nurse, I am sure you understand more than most what kids put their parents through before they leave the nest. - al
