Well first off, my apologies to Nick to poking fun at the venue. There really couldn't be a better setting for his work. An old ferry ticket sales building - perfect. Although, being in West Van, the average age was around 102. Cougars? More like saber tooth tigers. The work was, well, as it always is in Nick's case. Adjectives would seem to cheapen it at this point. The battle between staying longer and rushing home to work on some of my own pieces was eventually decided by my flu symptoms. I'll be back though. And now a question: Do you sign every piece? I noticed your initials on many but not all of your work. Then I got thinking about old cartographer tricks. When a cartographer was commissioned to do work in the old days, they were not allowed to sign it. Being proud of one's work, they would usually try to sneak a signature in somewhere. Then an elaborate game of cat and mouse would ensue between the cartographer and the editor. One of the most popular hiding spots was the north arrow.
