Magic reality instead of magic realism, a wonderful image, Duckmaiden. Monterey, Pacific Grove and Big Sur exist in my dreams and also along the central coast of California. The Pen and the Inkwell referred to a really nice set of photos in California Views website (thanks!). When I read that the clear spine of a squid is sometimes called a pen, and that sepia ink was originally harvested from squid it made me wonder if her name could have to do with the elegant creature.
