My fantasy of strange..r meetings, would be a variation on the Indonesian Shell Passing ritual: books, films, CDs, anonymously passed on slips of paper, along with the whine and cheese. .. Anyone who loves antic/ Bantock is a friend in mind. I might pass Big Bad Love, Arlyss Howard film, Truly Madly Deeply ;Cloudstreet/ Tim Winton, Helen Garner, Atwood poetry; Kate Grenville, Janette Turner Hospital, Keri Hulme; any number of "things" to see in particular galleries or even hum.. private collections. Perhaps recent Graves translation of Shadow of the WInd which I resisted as popular, until I actually read it. Hugoesque. And hell, I didn't even get to music.. What would you pass?
