Well, Pen & Ink & Inkling ~ I am glad my ramblings were so fine for you and yielded such a delighfully full (if repeatitious weekend). Actually, I was thinking more of a rolling stone gathering no moss rather than my head rolling down the hill behind Jack and Jill. But someone does have to fetch water and firewood, and it works for JK so who can say? But if my rambling, ambling and stroll . . .err helped well then. Not much else too say about that, except that I seriously think that although rolling stones gather no moss, they certainly can pack concert halls after all these years and seem to pick up a lot of speed like a snowball going downhill. Did you ever see Downhill Racer with RR? I have to frejahly admit that your 22 has good taste. Xylophones are a simple looking yet powerful tool for making music. If played correctly, they can produce the sweetest music - like the Carribeann calipso music played on steel drums on the beach under gentle ocean breezes and dancing tiki torches but of course since you are not on the isalnd of Tiki or anywhere near it, I suspect that they are called something else but exactly what I am not sure. But hanging around those isalnds transformed the Mamas and the Papas, so your weekend seranade might just spark something in that little tike - maybe launch a new career in the performing arts. Which, BTW, if she is any relation to you, might not be a bad thing. Why? Because, I am beginning to think that you are a bit of a ham, Pen, and if I read between the lines of your ppenstrokes, always up for an encore performance. . . But perhaps a different song might be in order . . . usually encores (if I am not misstaken) are selected from a reporetwah instead of a repeat [moss] - however does not apply to performances in a shebeen. Whick makes me think of shebangs (ans yes, mine is going nicely, thank you for asking) and why they call it the Big Bang when the universe was created and yet we are all focussed on gaining enlightnement? Maybe the Tibetans are right - we lie on the transition line between light and sound (we take in light fromthe sun - our sole source of energy and turn it into sounds - just like you did last weekend) so I waunder if ensoundment might be a more interesting goal than enlightenment. I mean, satori is nice but it does fade. But sounds, like 9 bottles of beer on the wall and Enry The Eight I Am can go on seemingly forever - and the travel speed is so much easier on the cabin service (no frills, no spills I alsways say). I actually have a suspicion that the whole snake in the garden of evening thing was a coverup. I think the snake hatched up this plan out of the blue about these apples and the whole knowledge bit because Eve caught him grooving up and down on the tree to Enry The Eight I Am. Now he has to cover his tracts, so he opens their eyes to the fact that although it is a beautiful garden and all, they lack certain necessities - food he has just taken care of - but shelter, clothing, an education and medical care (that dying bit is a bummer - and guaranteed to drive up the cost of health care in paradise - hmmm . . . now that I thik about it, if the apple brought about death and childbirth labor - andbeing born and dying is something everyone does - and we usually pay for medical assistance at these times, exactly WHY are we being told "Eat an apple a day to keep the doctor away"? It seems that is what started the whole need for a doctor in the first place. Curious, very curious. Oh - - and the snake is always twining aout that cadeusseeus thing!!! I think I am beginning to see the light here (or would that be hear the sound of a conspiracy? Hmm . . .do conspiracies make noise? They must, that is how they get caugt - somebody gets caught and then they rat each other out - which awedly, is what happened in the Garden of [lets get them to] Need [medical care - well ok, a whole economy to supply the basics of life - Maslows pyramid . OHHH! THat is what the Egyptian pyramids are 4!! TO inspire Maslow to decipher the basic human hierarchy of needs!!! I git it now!! And that is why Buddha was so into talking about greed and desire. Ever wonder what sired desire? That is just an aside for your consideration should you desiderate to gnosticate. Because desire didnt seem to exist in the garden either. Hmmm . . . does this sound like a pretty boring place - idleic - no slithering around on your belly (heavens, if that was what the kitchen sink is all about I feel like croaking!!) - no tasting the salt of your own labor and using it to make bbread - no tinkling of a goats herd bell in the background as you eat lunch under the shade of a tree - no music (seems mist was a big thing back then - and how can you let little ones run around on a misty night with nothing on? These days they have words for that! Child endangerment! Imagine letting your kids play in a park where a snake lures them to their death - OK, we are back to the pied piper and the drug dealer analogy - and the apple was a drug of sorts - slower than Xtastey to change your brain - but it was poisoned by soemthing from the sound of it. Do you think there is any connection to the whole Show White story - she got kicked out of the dwrfs cabin after eating a poisoned apple. Well, technically, she just had one bite, and did not even swallow because the thing apparently was so poisoned it got stuck. And then she got put into this glass coffin and put on display, perfectly preserved (amybe this was a magical embalming apple??? - or maybe this was another way to get us to desire luxurious coffins - rather like they put the plastic food plates in the windows of Japanese restarurants to get you to want to eat their food (usually not apples - but things like sushi and ohhmyknewmeauki, walkie talkie, and other staples and delicasees candy does the same thing - only I think their stuff is real. Well, maybe not - chocolate gets gray when it gets old - unlike gold which stays gold when it gets . . . gee old. Do you think gerald is really geriattic + old skrunched together and made to sound a bit better than an old-old name? Maybe it was a whole plot between G (awed) and Sir (pent) because Adam got done naming all the animals and they need3ed to keep him busy doing something else. (Gee, I have had that happen once or twice . . . itonly took me a couple of days of doing that to realize my boss did not have anything else for me to do and I needed to do nothing but look busy - ya know that is actually very hard to do - it is much easier to go hunting for your own work - but then you get labeled as a rainmaker and then they pay you to do it, which is actually kind of cool.) Speaking of cool, if you get tired of singing kids songs, you can alwyas go out and buy a CD. I got one once for a friend that had all these famous musicians singing childrens songs. I rather liked hearing Ringo Star do "Itzzy Bitzzy Spider" and it is totally cool because you both hear the songs 0 but they get the words while you get the irony of hearing Rock and Rollers cooing out and belting out baby songs. Hmmm . . . what else can I ramble on about to unscramble you out of a S.O.M. moode? (It is funny - you have a great weekend and my last few days are a bit more like Julie andrews sitting on the pine cone. (a Sudan onSet of roomieateaseum) But I do feel a bit responsible - not that much mind you - but enough to spend a few moments here to get those Sugar Plum Fairies dancing in your head to behave these selves or at least let you find a new groove for molding with the oldies (an allusion best appreciated by people who play with clay for a living - who would not probably exist if the apple season hadnt been so good/bad. Well, OK, with only 5 fruit, maybe it wasn;t so good. Maybe it was an unproductive year and they realized they needed bees to help pollunate the apple blossoms, because the birds just were too busy with creating birdsongs (supposidly the origins of human speech by imitating animal calls and sounds). Do you think it is a coincidence that bees communicate by zig zag paatterns and they probably pollonated the Tree of Life? Hmmm . . . ever notice that the snake hangs out in the tree but no birds - in fact the birds only seem to light on trees in the background. You do not think the Golden Goose hangs out in the roots there, do you? Because your mention of pleasant makes me think about peasant and peasants to simpletons (a ton is 2,000 lbs so a simple ton would be 2K, I think . . .). I mean, if we were kicked (ok gently ushered - as in ushers in amovie theater [and is it totally ironic that my cousin once worked replacing old seats in a movie thater or what?] and then later got into bike repair which fits in with a rant and bears little resemblence??) the job of the Golden goose seems like it has potential. I mean, how hard can it be to go stand under a tree (hope it is not the Nordic Tree of Life - a dragon lurks under that one I hear) and root around with a snubby nose for slugs until it tooples and you get picked up and carried around (himm . . .I think I like the sound of that) and then there is something about laughter and cellars of wine and consumers of bread (sellers and consumers . . .hmm . . that rings a chime or two . . . ) and then get a ship that sails on both land and sea (I was thinking of the moon but heck . . . mise well go borrow the one Freyr has [any idea how much the rental runs on a pocket handkercheif these days?] and Odin can alwyas be counted on to drain a whole cleear dry . . . so now all I need is a human chain forming seeking after a gold/feather and some way to dispose of a mountain of bread without getting Gullveig in trouble. Ahh . . . all in a days work . . . I have an idea about that bread. Snake can not live by apple alone!! Ketchy, aint it??? Too bad about the Atkins timing - with all the anti -carbo craze getting rid of the bread is much tougher (the job, not the bread) than it would have been a few days ago (no, the bread is not a few days old - nor moldy - it is freshly baked and backed by the hm m m m . . .who bakes bread these days anyway? Is it all done by machine or is there a Breadbakers and Pastry Workers Union?? Perhaps I can ask if they will make the loaves from spelt flour (it is higer in protein) and labelit as "low carb"? . . . There alwyas is a solution to every problem. I fingd that defining the boundaries quite helpful in the process, and so in all these ramblings I am starting to wonder if the webmaster/mistress/staff put any upper limit on the number of characters in any one posting. The bottom was (hmmm . . . 22 characters I think which is the missing one from the deck - as well as missing its h, which is rather odd - is it just a matter of a reverse of horizontal light (yippeee! I finally spelled it right - I alsways have trouble with the flouring of that one - flouring the board keeps the dough from sticking and breaking apart - while chiling the dough helps keep pie crusts intact (I see and therefore I blink or B link or before an elevator or just after) while rolling it out. Rolls do not need to be rolled out as thinly, but should be allowed to rest and rise a few minutes before using a circular cookie cutter (ok, to use a square one if you also prefer square eggs - see above for plum juice - suage fariers do tromp plums like grapes in a vat at harvest time. That is why ballet dancers wear tights - as if you did not know that one. And the concrete they used to put into the toes of the ballet slippers help tromp the jiuce out of the pits and why the ballet seines are painted in tromp louie (which is realted to Shrimp Louie salads since ballerinas need to eden light to keep balanced on those toe points (aka concrete filled shoes that murder your toes if you have not done the prep work which is what a soouueee shef is for, fight? Opps, right? The right ot fight, the right to rebel, to wear pink at midnight, to shuffle instead of play shuffle on baord - these rights are as indurable as the pen they were penned with in Pensylvania - which sounds like a 4rest of pens. So, have I rambled enough? At (checking now) 2,399 words and (updated count here) 9815 characters (not including the ones I just used to tell you the count as it used to be but now is . . . 2,430 words and . . . 201 lines not including foot notes, top notes or end notes or starting notes or warm up notes or notebooks or notepads or noteable ideas or notes of any conseequince (related to marmalade and apples BTW) and so I am at . . . 10100. . . . Several minutes later . . . and since the *ong goes on and on, so must I . . . if we are all energy, maybe instead of using laser light ot cut up us into chinks, they whould use a tuning fork on us instead. Not high C of course (no , not the kids drink), the note, a good note, Mind U, but one that has . . . the ability to find and expand on faluts and imperfections that can not be seen . . . but can be estimated using crack propagation theory and formulas. . . I just happen to have a few lying around the old book [just in] case, so here I go thumbing through dusty texts to find obscure . . . err .. lets call it knowledge for know (the ledge is more along the lines of allegedly and not the edge of a cliff . . .) Ahhh, yes, another red spined book, this one entitled "Fracture and Fatigue Control in Structures" which brings me back, sheepishly in my ramblings, to shebang and shechem an dthe whole reason they popped up on my radar screen at all was (dictionery please) . . .Psok, soybean (flipping through the pages here) solvable (hmmm .. . .) silvern to simplify . . ahh shuffle board . . .Shudra . . . how appropriate to this ramble . . . [deleted - it was - well is - not a thing to put in a list like this . . ] shearwater to sheckel . . .we are getting closer . . .sheen (not martin) . . . hmmm shed and shed interesting connection . . . oh, interesting I knever knew what sheesh was an abbreviation for (opps) . . . . right up there with err . . .and sherd vs sherd vs shard vs shard. Hmmm . . . sheathe as in a sword in a stone and ever notice what the point of it all is? I would comment more but I only read the vbridged edition of Fulcannelli . . .shepherds purse . . . a bit more useful that s Her*to*gen*bosch . . . and not to leaf ouf Sherwood Forest . . .a shekel as compared to a mark or markka (the Finnish mark as it were, which looks like Kkarma which is entirely different from Karmel [korn or otherwise]) . . . I still have not found the word for the gondola thingie that people fly in when they go in a dirigible or a hot air balloon . . . it looks like an Easter basket, but big enough to put people in and take them for a ride . . . did that once - landed in a cactus patch at dawn - sher wish it wood had been a forest instead. . . .still looking . . . sheepcote/sheepscoat - pen you will connect with this one, it has you written all over it . . .and not ot forget the sheepsberry . . .and the sheeps head is too delicious . . . the (well, for presicelery the lack of a better word ) gondola thingie was the ship that sails over both water and land (just in case Frejr is frozen somewhere up in the Nordic circle and isnt answering his sell phone or his xyz low [dial tone] phone. The count (which is not to be confused with a marquessa) is 3,066 (a very good year I suspect). Hmmm . . . hopefully a better year for apples than ones in the past - you gotta wonder if the snake and Snow Whites M.I.L. got their apples from the same place as Troy - that seems to have been one rotten bushel if you ask me (oh, you weren;t asking, oh well . . .) . . . do you think, buried in here somewhere, is a word to describe dislodging bits of poisin apple? And undoing apple induced curses and changing history to herstory? And what is up with being sentenced to dancing in iron shoes until you are dead? Yuk!! That is a grewsome way to go (12,782). Hmm X (12,800 on the nose!)- al (only your haridresser knows for sher)
