I'm not sure if it's the wear and tear of modern living but I've noticed I'm becoming generally less accepting. Things that once mildly irritated me, now really make me mad. In an effort to detoxify I've desided to compose a list of stuff that really gets under my skin. Political correctness and polite society aside, these peeves range from reasonable objection to out-and-out personal predjudice. In no particular order: *SUV drivers who park three feet from the curb while they pick up a coffee or return thier vidio. *Thick woollen socks worn with open toed sandels. *The media's insistence on combining the words 'sex and violence' as if the two (totally diferent subjects) were attached at the hip. *Cars with only one headlight working. *When someone sticks 'more' or 'totaly' in front of the word 'unique'.*Fabricated justification for invading another country. *Baseball caps on sideways. *Noise pollution (particularly white guys playing rap very loudly). *When you are watching a movie on TV and they stick more and more ads in near the end. *Bullies. *The cynical lobbying power of the big drug companies. *The dumming down of language. * The demise of art in schools. *The fact that airlines give me the same baggage allowance as someone who has stuffed themselves full of junk food till they are three times my weight. *Dits. *News broadcasters who are more interested in presenting themselves than the news. *Pale lemon yellow walls. *Cate Blanchard not getting the oscar for Elizabeth. *Metal framed windows. *Forgetting to put out the garbage on collection day. *Critics with unstated agendas. *Violent dogs called pets. *Cheese (any and all kinds!) *Getting in the wrong line up at the supermarket. *Filling in forms (any type, no matter how short). *Cell phone drivers. *Sentences peppered with the word 'like'. *having to read instructions for electronic divices before you can use them. *And last but not least--intollerance. I feel much better now. Please feel free to join in and air your souls. Nick
