I remember settling in with the latest book of one of my favorite authors and giggling because the main character reminded me of me. Then being amazed that her tastes were very similar to mine. Then starting to feel a little wierd that her background was exactly like mine. Her best friend could easily have been one of my closest friends. Then I read an exact scene, not very ordinary, that actually happened in my life. I fired a note off to the author who wrote back to me saying this sort of synchronicity was wierd but not all that unusual. He'd originally wrote the character to be a minor one, but then she just sort of took on a life of her own and came to the fore. Interesting.
