Thought of your comments this week end as I watched newly hatched goslings peck around the lawn outside my place, downy little creatures with a soft haze of forsythia yellow dusting their crown feathers. They huddle in a lumpy pile after lunch, with keen eyed sentry geese watching over them. What an accomplishment just to get through the tall grass and take swimming lessons with their mothers on the pond. Traffic stops to let the line of geese take their sweet time crossing the road. But what's the rush on a pleasant Sunday afternoon.
