There was a post a while ago concerning a close friendship with a teacher as a high school student prepared to go off to college. Of course close friendships arise between students and teachers, it is even conducive to learning to get a crush on a teacher. But everyone has to remember the nature of a relationship where one person has a lot of power over another person. It's not quite the same thing as a friendship, or at the very least, that aspect has to be transcended. It depends on the age and experience level of people involved, too. Teacher/student is already one of the more important relationships for many people, whether it continues for a long time or not. Good luck.
