I see love as the string theory of being, at the base of everything. You can't be without something that is always there and you won't be finding it in any particular thing. From there you make choices -friends, lovers, mates, collectables, meals, shoes. Some of those choices become preferences, some passions, some an enchanting personification of love. The problem I guess is when the collectable object of delight and desire becomes more associated with aquisition, and the collector becomes defined by the object. Objects, created environments, and the people we choose to have around us tell the world a quite a bit about who we are and the choices that we make but do we essentially change if we lose the object, land in a different environment or add and subtract to the group of people in our lives. My guess is that we are experience the most impact from people, then environment, and last, objects. Objects may possess artistic excellence and material value, but are most meaningful when they are associated with people, like drinking tea from granny's teacup.
