6 If image is the main tool of the sleeping mind, what is the purpose of language? Maybe dream language is designed to function more like a weaving, with the threads of words going forward to make sentences while the more complicated information moves horizontally in a quite different pattern. Example. Struggling for clarity in my work I once dreamed of 3 frogs going Rivet, rivet, rivet. When I awoke into the bridge between sleep and wake I saw that rivets was an anagram of strive. 7 Is lucid dreaming innately ethical/moral and will the option to control slip through the fingers, if say greed or lust are a motive? Or can lucid dreams be directed amorally? Are lucid dreams the property of the self-serving individual or an aid designed by and for the collective intelligence? Will a better understanding of this question throw light on who is steering the ship? 8 Exactly why do dreams respond to observation by becoming elusive? When we capture, examine and analyze a dream are we sticking specimen pins through the wings of Psyche--restricting its capacity to fly? Can that psychological entrapment be lessened by taking a non-judgmental view, or is it necessary to participate with dreams agenda to verify our willingness to "run, where it wishes to go"? 9 Given recent scientific theories about the ambiguous nature of time and the possibility of its flowing two ways at once, the idea of precognitive dreams does seem totally far fetched. In fact does our capacity to invent memory and perceive life as a self-fulfilling prophecy suggest our grip on the difference between past and future is tenuous at best?
