Dear Mr. Bantock - I am a mature student at Central Tech in downtown Toronto in a three-year post-secondary art program. I'm putting together a presentation for our printmaking class forthe end of this month on your life and work (so far), having long been a fan of your wonderful books, but erroneously, it seems, thinking you were a printmaker. Despite this misconception on my part, my printmaking teacher and I agreed that it would still be worthwhile to present your work, because so many elements 'read' as etchings, block prints, lithographs and various forms of screepnprints, despite being collage and painting. I noticed, however, while assiduously reading through The Artful Dodger, that you do refer to using block print elements on occasion. I'm now wondering if you are actually using other printmaking techniques in some of the images in your work. If you have the time and the inclination to respond, I would be most appreciative. Sincerely, Elaine Jaques
