I have been an avid reader and admirer of anything Nick Bantock. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Nick in November in Wolfvillle Nova Scotia, and it was one of, if not the most memorable moments of my life. I always said that if I ever met someone famous I wouldn't become star struck, but the moment I walked through the door and saw him sitting there I was awestruck. "I can't believe that I am finally meeting him" kept running through my head. Anything intelligent that I wanted to say or ask him just disappeared. I felt quite foolish, but Nick was so wonderful and made me felt comfortable and welcome. I brought in the Morning Star and asked him to sign it, and then my boyfriend popped in and told Nick that I had 10 more books in my car, and asked if he would sign those too, I was to shy to say anything. Nick was very nice and said that he would sign them all, I also had my picture taken with Nick by the nice women at the book store. The point that I am getting to is if Nick reads this I would like to let hime know that I will have something more intelligent to say, and I will not leave the bookstore crying because I had just met the person who has made such a profound impact on my life. Thank you for everything Nick. I hope that you come back to the Maritimes very soon!
