Ahhh. Position is important, but more so (I think) the flexibility to change ones. Everything has both a relative and absolute position. The trick is using the right reference point. My suggestion is to avoid if possible trying to calculate under timed conditions the position of an ant crawling up the raising arm of a record player while it is simultaneously swinging across a spinning platter from the point of view of his friend walking southwest on the third track of the album. Note, it is critical to state your assumption of the speed of the LP - 33 RPM is usually a safe bet .
