Hmmm. With a limitless imagination, it would knot surprise me If while he slept, his dreams formed universes, forged from myth and long forgotten bedtime stories. But, If they are based on the memory of love, instead of love itself, does he face the same challenge that George Clooney did in Solaris? Where the dreamed asks the dreamer what he has done, and queries the faithfulness of his memory of his wife. Basically, the question she asks is not how good is the process of imagemaking (how faithful the copy is to the original) but how good is the original image (in this case his memory based on his personal perceptions and interpretation of his past experiences). He remembers his wife as suicidal, and so he limits the potenital of his newly dreamed one, casting her forever in the shadow of his memory instead of the light of her spirit. He is fased not with answers, but with choices. In this case, he decides to change his environment, to exist within the energy of the substance of Solaris and transcend the limits between him and his dreams, between life and death that are the choices every magician must face. Classic tracks on the Triumph CD tell you to follow your heart, and keep your magic there. Not bad for a Canadian breakout band. Not a bad way to say I love you from across the vast universes of space and time. Now if only I could figure out where I put my towel . . . beach towel, that is. Maybe the hall closet?? (TIC)
