Nick, I've really been digging into the details of your Griffin and Sabine books to see what I can uncover, and one thing I'm stuck on is your use of numbers. There seems to be some sort of dialogue between the characters involving numerals, but I can only decrypt it once in a great while. For instance, I noticed a "451" in "Alexandria" on the same postcard that talks about the burning of the library -- so I assume that the "451" points to 451 degrees Fahrenheit, "the temperature at which books burn" (thank you Ray Bradbury). But what of the more cryptic ones? Or the call-and-response of numbers that happens every now and then? There are numbers on so many of the postcards and letters... Can you give me a clue or a hint? Thanks, Dan Barry [email protected]
