Hmmm...... Good question Nick. personally, i'm still trying to find the strength to love. to love somebody is not easy, not to mention one who doesn't reciprocate, or even reject what u hafta offer. i realised that in order to love, one must feel loved 1st, and able to trust completely in pple around u. becos one of the inhibitions to really loving unconditionally is the fear of pain and subsequently the tendency to withdraw within ur own lil' shell of protection. i once possessed a great capacity to love and i poured out my heart to a few frens, but over time, all i got was rejection and hurt. that encounter paralysed me so much that i hardened myself and shut down emtionally. i'm still trying to emerge from the pit of depression and isolation. perhaps this is why i love ur books so much. ur characters are so open and vulerable with their emotions. i admire Matthew's and Isabella's fiery love for each other. both are unabashed in their expressions for each other. both are brave enuff to be vulnerable to each other. To have courage in love is to put away all selfish ideals abt relationships, as well as personal fears and pain, in order to give oneself fully to the Beloved.
