Mail Art Gallery The technique involved in making Nick Bantock's original Mail Art is far
from predictable. Using a variety of paper ephemera, postcards, letters,
etchings, bank notes and old legal documents as a starting point; he
begins a process of embellishment, tampering and historical mischief.
Adding mysterious markings, stamps, cancels, petroglyphs, handlettering,
drawings and rubber stampings to the already heady mix, he incites a
fascinating world that never quite was--but almost might have been. |
