Mail Art Gallery
Faux Mail & Dubious Documents The technique involved in making Nick Bantock's original Mail Art is far
from predictable. Using a variety of paper ephemera, postcards, letters,
etchings, bank notes and old legal documents as a starting point; he
begins a process of embellishment, tampering and historical mischief.
Adding mysterious markings, stamps, cancels, petroglyphs, handlettering,
drawings and rubber stampings to the already heady mix, he incites a
fascinating world that never quite was--but almost might have been.
Nick Bantock's Mail Art is a relatively inexpensive way to collect his
original art. Each piece is unique, initialed NB, completed with a black
acid-free matt, and comes with a signed certificate of origin. Some of
the Mail Art offered for sale in this gallery have been published in
books such as The Museum at Purgatory, Urgent 2nd Class and The Artful Dodger. Inquire to

many books. All measurements are in inches.
