AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: With my blessing and modicum of assistance, Bound Press is in the process of creating an interactive App version of the Griffin and Sabine Trilogy for viewing on tablets like the iPad and Amazon Fire. Having now activated a Kickstarter campaign we’d be chuffed if you’d take a look.
*Kickstarter has chosen this project as one of their ‘Staff Picks’, and with everyone’s help, the Griffin and Sabine app will turn out be really special.
THE VENETIAN for iPad™ by Nick Bantock
"Platforms may change but technology can never totally circumvent the need for a well told story."
Back in the early 90’s Nick helped create a CD Rom version of Griffin and Sabine with Peter Gabriel's Real World called Ceremony of Innocence. It was a big critical success (including being awarded a BAFTA), but as history would have it, the world of CDRom would turn away from interactive tales, and move instead towards fast action games. Ceremony of Innocence is no longer available but with the advent of e-books and ipad apps a new potential for storytelling and electronic gameplay has emerged. Using some of the knowledge he acquired on Real World’s million dollar project, Nick created his first two electronic offerings—The Venetian and Sage*.
*Sage is a free app and free online. See links below.
Future e-books, apps, film and multi-media projects will appear here under the More Magic page.
