Nick I can tell that you and I have much in common. As is typically the case in my projects I find bizarre coincidences as I work through projects. I try not to add false importance to art but it really is very compelling at times. I was at Barnes and Noble yesterday and quite by accedent I picked up your new book Urgent 2nd Class. I was blown away. I too am a mixed media artist and have collected many of the exact same items you have used. My work is very similar in subject matter so it was like looking at my own work. You are far more advanced so it’s more like looking at my work three years from now. Finding your book came at a very opportune time as I’m in a bit of a dry stage although I continue to work daily. Paging through your book I found on page 11 under the Faux Mail section your Rodchenko styled faux postcard. I live on the same street just down the road from the former resident’s mail sticker you used; Mrs. J. Paul Frick, 116 Huntington Road, Kansas City Mo. USA. Your book immediately became very personal and then to run into the mail sticker was temporarily confusing. Very interesting experience. I’m an artist located in Kansas City. I’ve had a number of one man shows and I’m represented by the Dolphin Gallery in Kansas City. As a result of my last one-man show, the Albrieght Kemper Museum is doing a one-man show of my work next to their main collection in fall of 2006. I have a real job but my art career has become a little hard to manage as I have been defined by my successful commercial real estate development career over the past 20 years and now people are defining me as an artist, which is very strange for me. I’ll share my work with you from time to time if you would like. I’ve collected a number of images that I’d be happy to share with you if you’re looking for anything specific. I’d be interested in chatting some time. Thank you for your book. You’re a serious talent.
